Our Story

The Booklet Press specialises in producing stapled booklets.

Some of our booklets are A5 size, and some are A4 size.

 

We mostly use A5 booklets to print the contents of our customers.

And we mostly use A4 booklets to publish our own content and our range of stationery.

 

‘We’ are Gill and Graham Williams, and we own and run The Booklet Press.

 

We’ve had an involvement with booklets and publishing (on and off) for many, many years.

During that time, we developed an absolute passion for booklets and what they can do – they have so many uses, they are very affordable so are great entry point into publishing, and they are so easy for readers to use.

So what’s not to love?

 

During the covid lockdowns, we began to explore ideas for a new project for us to embrace post covid.  Obviously, The Booklet Press became that project.

 

Although we’ve invested in modern digital equipment, we’ve kept the traditional artisan nature of booklet-making.

 

On the day that the new equipment arrived, our grown-up children asked us, “WHY are you doing this?”… in that kind of voice that a parent uses when their child spills melted chocolate ice cream down their clean shirt!!!!

Then, when we told them that we intended to sell our booklets at below the average market price (to encourage people to use our booklets) so we weren’t chasing profits… well, imagine that that child I told you about, (all on the same day) kicked a football through a big window and smashed it, let the dog run away and no one knew where it was, and finally, the child threw up on the lounge carpet. That’s the ‘voice’ we got about our project 

But, we explained to them, sometimes “….you’ve just gotta do what you’ve gotta do!”

And then…. they became fans.

 

Our plan is to share our booklets, and our passion that we have for them, with our customers – newby booklet users, and old hands alike.
